How we understand and measure value is critical in making strategic decisions. “What gets measured, matters” is indeed a truism, but a useful one. What is good design worth and how do we measure it?

Sharing and developing case studies that exemplify the qualities we look for in assessing design excellence is a way to demonstrate the values by which we measure and evaluate. Those qualities are also summarised in the seven objectives outlined in Better Placed – an integrated design policy for the built environment of NSW.

Central to all our strategic projects are implementation and evaluation frameworks to monitor success and to plan for revisions and updates.
